Two more people have been arrested related to a theft at London's Heathrow Airport where over twenty individuals sustained injuries by what is thought to be an irritant spray, according to police.
A man, 24, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area for suspected theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of conspiring to commit a robbery. Both individuals are still being held, the force said.
These detentions follow an investigation into an attack at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Prior to the incident, two women had stolen from them their luggage upon exiting a car park lift.
A toddler aged three was among the injured during the incident. Five people were taken to the hospital for treatment and were later discharged.
Police arrested a man in his thirties on suspicion of robbery and assault near the scene. He has since been released under investigation as the investigation proceeds.
Police were called at approximately 08:10 GMT after reports came in regarding a number of people injured by a noxious substance thought to be pepper spray.
The attack - which police said was a standalone incident and not considered terrorism - resulted in delays to rail services and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a short time.
