La Petite Maison's Drink – The Method

We present an easy version of a cocktail found on the seasonal menu. Designed as a batch premix which is packed with the essence of a holiday season, making it perfect for a festive gathering. Reserve the remaining citrus syrup you can use for breakfast cocktails, puddings, or to mix more rounds of bikinis.

Serves 10 guests

For the Citrus Syrup (yields 750ml)

300ml recently pressed clementine juice
200ml newly squeezed lemon juice
500g caster sugar

For the Cocktail (produces 850ml, serving 10)

400ml good quality vodka
100ml classic gin
150ml peach-flavored liqueur
200ml clementine syrup (from the recipe above)
A few cranberries, to garnish
Mandarin essential oil, as a final touch

Method

For the Citrus Syrup: Place all the components inside a pot, heat until it reaches a light boil, stirring until the sugar dissolves. Then, remove from the heat allowing it to cool down entirely. Decant into an sealable bottle, close it keeping it in the fridge, where it will keep for around four weeks.

To make Batch Mix: Combine all the liquid ingredients into one big jug, let it rest for an hour, then filter it best through a fine cloth, making it perfectly clear.

To serve: Measure 85ml of your batch mix into a stirring glass containing ice, and agitate carefully for a minute to cool it down. Strain into a cold coupe glass or similar, decorate with a few cranberries adding the final touch using a light spray with the mandarin essence over the drink.
