Hazbin Hotel's Showrunner Is Aware of Your Second Season Predictions — And She Has Good News

The highly-awaited second season of the adult animated musical series Hazbin Hotel launches on the streaming platform this week, and audience theories has been widespread.

Season 1 introduces a diverse group of characters living within Hell and Heaven, sets them at odds accompanied by musical numbers about their clashes, and builds tense rivalries and emotional bonds that fuel fan obsession.

The fandom's stated hopes for season 2 differ greatly, but certain themes recur frequently: Could Angel Dust escape his tormentor? Might we learn more about the binding agreement affecting the enigmatic Alastor? Might certain characters' relationships evolve?

"Obviously, I don't produce the show with fan service as the main goal," the showrunner commented recently. "But I feel like me being a fan of my own show implies there's a lot of it just inherently. I also am eager for these things, and I hope some of these things to occur, and clearly some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

The creator reveals her big-picture plan is for five seasons of Hazbin Hotel. Future installments have already been green-lit by the production companies, which finance the series.

That could imply viewers have to be patient for some of the biggest payoffs — but they could be shocked at how quickly season 2 moves, and how many of what they're waiting for happens this season.

"I feel like people are going to be highly satisfied," she adds. "We get some firsts. I think we receive some incredible reveals, some really cool origin tales, and even just simple things, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] Audiences will experience additional musical numbers from the characters we didn't get to hear before."

The creator is well-informed of the theories and desires about the upcoming season — particularly in the format of fan bingo cards.

"I've come across a couple people make a prediction grid about the new season," she mentions. "Naturally I can't post it, but I've already completed a few items, and nearly every one of them have almost a bingo. I was like, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that makes me think we do a lot [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I was like, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that brings me joy."

Hazbin Hotel season 2 launches on Prime Video on Oct. 29.
